DtMS, a small Melbourne-based company, is planning to fight telecoms giant Telstra over the right to publish the contents of over 100 telephone directories on CD-ROM.
DtMS managing director Andre Scibor-Kaminski told The Sydney Morning Herald that “Telstra is seeking to have entrenched forever in Australian law the principle that it has sole ownership of the information where ordinary Australians live, as well as their telephone number”.
“They’re some big words, Kaminski,” countered Telstra CEO Ziggy Switkowski in an interview with The Daily Grind, “but remember: we know where you live.”
“It’s in some sort of book.”
