A Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman has slammed “media organisations that are using irresponsible reporting and that have exaggerated groundlessly problems with some products”. Wang Xinpei was speaking to ABC News about the recall of millions of toys laced with toxic levels of lead.
It remains uncertain whether the contamination came from paint used at the factory or being put outside to dry.
Dimly visible across his desk, Mr Wang assured The Daily Grind that the lead would cause no lasting harm.
“Baby—very easy make more,” he advised through the haze.
Mr Wang was keen to showcase other local products, including personal radar sets to find our way out.
