French defence technology company Thales has suspended a contractor with its Australian operation after learning of her links to a National Socialist group called Blood & Honour.
The company defended its decision to work with the Nazis as being “for old times’ sake”.
Canberra resident Nicole Hanley was employed as a bid support manager for Thales, where she worked on bids for munitions, protected mobility vehicles and Eastern Europe.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Ms Hanley told Blood & Honour she “would have a lot to offer” given her background. Authorities are concerned that neo-Nazi groups could become a serious threat if they gained access to Thales’s cache of aircraft-carrier drawings.
For its part, the Defence force is happy to report that seeing off the Nazis was much easier this time around.
Thales Group was founded in 2000 and specialises in aerospace information systems and Ionian philosophy.
