Overweight posties won’t reach homes fast enough, at least not without more stamps

A draft policy from Australia Post will force overweight posties off the streets in a bid to reduce delivery times.

Well, at least now we know who ate all the tethered pens at the PostShop.

The corporation has revealed that if its posties weigh more than 100 kilograms, they won’t reach homes unless more stamps are applied.

Honda has warned that Post’s 90cc motorbikes can’t carry a plus-size rider and 30 kilos of mail, much less the fattest posties’ mobility scooters.

Posties have slammed the changes as unfair, given how fat the tech guys who deliver our emails are.

The Communications Electrical Plumbing Union has threatened a walk-out, although the corporation has privately dismissed the possibility of any of these guys getting more than about 50 metres on foot.

Australia Post is concerned that the union’s demands represent the fat end of the wedge.

The strike threat has surprised many post office customers, who had assumed a strike was already in progress.

The Daily Grind understands that the draft policy will get a trial run in South Australia, which prides itself on having the country’s toughest anti-bikie laws.
