Left-wing group the Yes Men have circulated a fake edition of the New York Times announcing the end of the Iraq War and a government-run healthcare system.
A New York Times spokesman dismissed the paper full of inaccurate news stories in the service of some left-wing cause as a prank that “we’ve been doing for years.“
Nonetheless, the spoof broke new ground, with the Yes Men becoming the first left-wing group to acknowledge that the Iraq War is for all intents and purposes over.
Other newspapers of record are being targeted as well: The Times with a parody called The Guardian and The Age with a parody called The Age.
