Former terror supporter David Hicks has moved to the Sydney suburb of Abbotsford, AAP has reported. His new friend, entrepreneur Dick Smith, says that Mr Hicks deserves a chance and is currently looking for a job.
Mr Smith has helped Mr Hicks with a few resume tips, including removing “Mosqua Aqsa camp” from the Education section and replacing “Guantanamo Bay” with “career break”.
According to AAP, Mr Smith is also encouraging Mr Hicks to “tell the full story to the Australian people.”
Mr Smith is understood to be keen for Mr Hicks to follow in his footsteps as a media whore.
Mr Smith is convinced that “what the Americans have told us about David Hicks and what the previous government has told us ... is wrong.”
But apparently Mr Hicks just can’t find the words to explain that he didn’t fight alongside Lashkar-e-Toiba or the Taliban, he didn’t write those anti-Semitic letters, and he most certainly did not plead guilty to supporting a terrorist organisation.
