Murderer O’Connor to miss next season of The Farmer Wants A Wife

8 December 2008 | Joe Stella

Laurence Bede O’Connor, a farmer from Tooraweenah in the state’s central west, has been convicted of murdering his wife.

Mr O’Connor will no longer be eligible to find a replacement for his wife Flordelizza on the next season of The Farmer Wants A Wife.

Mr O’Connor reportedly snapped after his wife constantly hid his car keys, wallet and chequebook. Unfortunately, Mrs O’Connor lacked the presence of mind to hide a .22 rifle kept on the property.

Mr O’Connor will spend at least 16 years in the central west’s toughest maximum-security tourist attraction, Old Dubbo Gaol. Inmates there are routinely subjected to humiliating costumes and tedious re-enactments designed to crush the spirit.

A Corrective Services spokesman said that Mr O’Connor would be a bushranger about to be flogged or some shit.
