Germans can’t believe such slaughter could occur in their country

Germany is in shock after a school shooting claimed 15 lives in the country’s south-west. Gunman Tim Kretschmer, 17, later fled the scene before killing himself.

Ordinary Germans cannot believe that their country could become the scene of such pointless slaughter.

Describing how victims were trapped and then killed off en masse, witnesses told The Daily Grind that they never would have thought that such a thing could happen in Germany.

The BBC reports that it is likely Mr Kretschmer shot himself after being cornered by police. The gunman’s final act of cowardice has been roundly condemned as “completely unGerman” and “not the way we generally do things.”

The Daily Grind understands that after Mr Kretschmer’s death, control of the shooting briefly passed to Admiral Karl Dönitz.

The BBC reports that Mr Kretschmer was an avid table tennis player with dreams of turning pro. This has reignited criticisms of the sport as too lenient towards its more violent star players.
