Quaid applies for asylum, asylum could be the best option at this point

31 October 2010 | Joe Stella

Fugitive actor Randy Quaid is claiming that he failed to appear in court on burglary charges because he believes a gang of “star-whackers” are killing Hollywood celebrities—and that he could be next.

Read more background from The Sydney Morning Herald.

A police taskforce investigating the unrelated deaths of Heath Ledger, David Carradine and six others now want to speak with Randy Quaid’s imagination.

Mr Quaid has offered up his imagination for questioning in return for immunity on burglary and vandalism charges.

“We are not criminals nor are we fugitives from justice. Nor are we crazy,” Mr Quaid quipped.

The star-whacker gang operates by extorting Mr Quaid and his wife over crimes they have committed, with the ultimate aim of making them pay “fines” in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Some say that the gang have links to organised crime; others say that the conspiracy to have the Quaids fined is being orchestrated by the Santa Barbara District Attorney.

Mr Quaid is currently in Canada applying for some sort of asylum; at this point an asylum may be the best thing for him.
