A Bendigo man will spend three months in a Queensland gaol after ramming a car in a McDonald’s drive-thru.
Adam Joseph French, then aged 25, became angry after being denied the breakfast menu at 3am. Staff also refused to show him a wine list.
Mr French was asked to leave, but found his way out blocked by a carload of Samoan men, the Courier-Mail reported. The defendant then requested a beating by yelling racist insults, and two of the men were happy to oblige. The Samoans were, however, also unable to offer Mr French the breakfast menu.
Mr French then rammed the Samoans’ car, pushing it into two women nearby, injuring both. One of the women later told the Courier-Mail that she believed the sentence to be insufficient for the Macca’s ramraider, adding “I hope French fries for this.”
It’s still not clear what made the defendant so angry that he couldn’t get a McMuffin, but staff at Browns Plains McDonald’s are counting themselves lucky they didn’t let on that the sundae machine was broken as well.
In sentencing, Judge Tony Rafter told Mr French that “there certainly won’t be any fuckwits where you’re going.”
“On second thought, you are going to gaol.”
Barrister Andrew Christie, appearing for Mr French, then asked that the prosecution be directed to release the breakfast menu. Prosecutor David Nardone indicated that he had stopped serving breakfast.
