7 April 2008 | Jebediah Coleand Joe Stella

Actor and former National Rifle Association president Charlton Heston has been found dead at his Beverly Hills home, after a long illness. He was 84.

Read more background from The Sunday Telegraph.

Police attended the scene and found a number of firearms, including one pried from his cold, dead hands.

Heston had suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease since maybe around about 2002, although he was generally fuzzy on the details.

Heston is today remembered as the nation’s most right-wing environmentalist former union leader. The great tragedy is that now Michael Moore believes the Columbine High School case will never be solved.
