15 February 2008 | Joe Stella

Defence Minister Joel Fitzgibbon has attacked Australia’s allies in Afghanistan, accusing Afghan, American and Nato forces of disunity, according to a Sydney Morning Herald report.

“We cannot be a part of a coalition that does not present a united front,” Mr Fitzgibbon told The Daily Grind, “like these idiots.”

According to the Herald, Mr Fitzgibbon is concerned that Australia is being excluded from NATO planning because it is was not a member of the organisation. The Daily Grind understands that the defence minister has demanded that secretary-general Jaap de Hoop Scheffer immediately bolster efforts to move Australia to the North Atlantic.

Mr Fitzgibbon was quoted by the Herald as saying that Australia “had been denied access to important war information”.

Australia is also not invited to the trendiest war parties and doesn’t get to hang out in the cool Afghan provinces. One soldier serving in Afghanistan reported having sand kicked in his face.

Mr Fitzgibbon has pledged to continue heaping shit on our allies until they take him seriously.
