New high-tech uniforms for the South Korean army will include ‘chameleon’ uniforms that change colour according to their surroundings, AFP has reported.
Activists from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have slammed the new uniforms as cruel to chameleons.
The new uniforms will be delivered in 2012, after the bugs are addressed. When the soldiers stand next to each other, the uniforms create cool-looking video-feedback patterns.
AFP reports that from 2016, soldiers will be equipped with next-generation helmets.
These will weigh just 1150 grams and contain a 60-inch full-HD plasma television.
The Daily Grind understands that from 2020, soldiers will be also be able to pick up and use enemy weapons including plasma grenades, needlers, ghosts and wraiths.
