10 September 2008 | Joe Stellaand Adam Yardley

Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej has been dumped from the top job after being paid to appear on a television cooking show against parliamentary rules on secondary employment.

In a related development, Mr Samak’s famous green curry was forced to step down as defence minister.
Mr Samak becomes the shortest-serving PM in Thailand since Jamie Oliver.

The ruling from the country’s Constitutional Court could have grave implications for democracy and future seasons of Dancing With The Stars.

Thailand’s ongoing constitutional crisis will be detailed in an upcoming episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Thai Government Nightmares.
The opposition has slammed incoming leader Somchai Wongsawat, saying that the government is merely rearranging the deckchairs at a restaurant called Thai Tanic.
