Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd’s undeclared campaign to return to the prime ministership has been dealt a blow after embarrassing out-takes from a video he filmed in his office were leaked on YouTube.
The video represents a landmark address from Mr Rudd, in which he outlines a bold vision for “these dickheads in the embassy to just give me simple sentences.”
Mr Rudd touches on voters’ concerns about China’s rise as a superpower, telling viewers “The fucking Chinese interpreter upstairs ... Just fucking hopeless.”
Mr Rudd concedes that he made mistakes, particularly that he “fucked up the last word,” but lays out a positive vision for the future.
The former leader promises that, if returned to the Lodge, he will enact a sweeping reform agenda, including cancelling a meeting at 6pm that he doesn’t “have the fucking patience” for.
