Telling The Sydney Morning Herald that “this very sensitive step in the contract process will not be rushed,” the New South Wales government has announced delays to the planned dumping of the delayed Tcard project.
The Tcard project was due for completion in the year 2000, but since then has been characterised by an ethos of “this very sensitive step in the contract process will not be rushed.”
Other sensitive steps not to be rushed include development of Tcard, testing of Tcard and implementation of Tcard.
The dumping of Tcard was supposed to happen in December, but could now be delayed until later in the year. A replacement system should be ready to test by 2017, with the final ticketing scheme in place for when Sydney next holds the Olympics, in 2044.
