As the coalition government seeks a fourth term, the National Union of Students (NUS) has revived its “students can’t afford another Howard government” campaign.
“It turned out we could afford the last one, after all,” NUS president Jodie Jansen told The Daily Grind, “but this time we really, really mean it, okay?”
At the official launch today, Ms Jansen revealed that this year the familiar posters will be supplemented by exciting slogans, including “Get involved!” and “Something about Iraq!”
However, the NUS is troubled by the continuing existence of its (compulsory) constituency, having declared “another Howard government would be the end of higher education” two Howard governments ago.
